H The TownHouse Mykonos Rooms & prices

The whitewashed lanes of Chora give way, at Manto Square, to an eighteenth-century manor house facing the harbour. Cars stop two hundred and fifty metres short, at the edge of the pedestrian old town, and a porter carries the rest of the way. This is The TownHouse Mykonos, once a neo-classical home and one of the oldest buildings left standing in the town. HUSH read the house rules: it takes no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants to fall asleep to the harbour and wake up already inside the old town.

The building predates the resorts by a couple of centuries — a neo-classical home for one of the island's grander families, before it became a hotel with a rooftop terrace above Manto Square. The square carries the name of Manto Mavrogenousi, the only woman ever given the title General-in-Chief, who spent her own fortune on Greek independence and fell out with her family for it. Ten rooms only, which is why you can take the whole house at once — book exclusive use and the Sunset and Rooftop Terraces, a VIP concierge and a butler on request come with it. Little Venice is a five-minute walk from the door, and the harbour is closer still.

The TownHouse Mykonos sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at mykonostownhousehotel.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The rooftop

Climb to the SKYBAR and 54 Cocktail Lounge and the whole of Chora falls away beneath the daybeds - a low sweep of white cubes, the windmills, and the sea turning gold as the sun drops toward Delos. It is the house's own perch for a cocktail at dusk, and one of the more photographed rooftops on the island.

The suites

The Mykonian Suites give the house its most private hours: a terrace of your own with sun loungers and a jacuzzi, looking straight over the old harbour and the rooftops of the town. Inside, mezzanine sleeping areas and freestanding tubs carry on the pared-back palette, so the view stays the loudest thing in the room.

Our tips

Ask the concierge for Delos

The concierge can arrange a boat directly from the harbour to Delos, Apollo's birthplace, or to Rhenia beside it, without going through the main port. Ask a day ahead and you're back in time for the terrace at sunset.

Breakfast in the room

Some mornings, skip the terrace and have breakfast brought up instead — it travels well, in containers meant for exactly that. For dinner, Chora is a few minutes' walk in any direction, from old-style tavernas to newer, glossier rooms.

The windmills at Kato Mili

Ten minutes on foot brings you to Kato Mili, five-hundred-year-old windmills the Venetians built to catch the sea wind and grind flour; one is now a small museum, and from up there you can see most of Chora at once. Walk back down into the old town for dinner.

Little Venice, five minutes away

The medieval merchant houses with wooden balconies leaning over the water are a five-minute walk from the square — once home to captains and, by local telling, the odd pirate. The building the hotel now occupies appears in the market scene of the film Shirley Valentine, if you want to spot it, and it's five minutes back to the square once you have.
