H Casa Porto Boutique Hotel Rooms & prices

The lake at Agios Nikolaos drains straight into the sea a few steps from the door, tavernas and souvenir shops lined up around the water the whole way round. Above that shoreline, in the centre of town, is Casa Porto Boutique Hotel: twenty rooms rebuilt from the walls up by June 2021, sealed against heat, cold and the noise of the harbour below, and it takes no guests under eighteen. For two people who want the walk into town without losing the quiet once they're back.

Inside, the rebuild shows in wood and fabric rather than marble or gloss: floors and furniture in the colours of the area, three grades of mattress - firm, medium, soft - to choose from, and a Nespresso machine and kettle at the desk in every room. Windows in the higher rooms hold the Gulf of Mirabello, Mira Bella, the beautiful view the gulf is named for; lower down you get the lake instead, ringed with cafe tables. Twenty rooms only, which keeps the corridors quiet whatever the town outside is doing. Heating runs hot water in seconds, and the same rebuild sealed the rooms against heat, damp and the harbour's evening noise.

Casa Porto Boutique Hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at casaportohotel.gr, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Rooms above the harbour

The rooms look out over the harbour and the ridgeline behind it, most of them opening to a private balcony set with a deck chair or a hanging rattan seat. Inside, a spa bath, crisp branded linen and a Nespresso corner make it easy to stay in, while floor-to-ceiling glass lets the sea light do the rest of the work.

The rooftop terrace

The rooftop terrace is the heart of the house, open all day beneath a timber pergola with a panoramic view across the port. Breakfast is a proper buffet with eggs cooked to order; later the bar sends up signature coffee cocktails, a well-loved brunch and a cheese board carried straight to your table.

Our tips

Choose a spa bath room

The Deluxe, Queen and Suite categories come with a spa bath; the Economy rooms don't, and go without a balcony too. Ask for one when you book, along with the mattress grade - firm, medium or soft - the site lets you pick before you arrive.

Breakfast delivered to the room

Breakfast can be taken in the room rather than downstairs, brought up in sealed, covered containers if you'd rather not sit at a table. Between that and the in-room kettle and Nespresso machine, there's no real reason to leave before you're ready to.

Voulismeni Lake, on foot

The lake that gives the old town its shape is a few steps from the door, ringed the whole way round with tavernas, cafes and souvenir shops. Walk it once at midday for the shops and once after dark for the water, then back to a quiet room above it.

Kritsa and the Gorge

One of Crete's oldest villages sits a short drive above the coast: narrow alleys, a folklore museum, and the Byzantine chapel of Panagia Kera with its frescoes. Walk the Gorge of Kritsa in the morning and be back at the hotel, above the lake, well before dinner.
