H Eva Mare Hotel & Suites Rooms & prices

Agia Pelagia sits on Crete's north coast, ringed by green hills that keep the traffic away; walk the last stretch down toward Psaromoura Beach and you reach Eva Mare Hotel & Suites. It takes no guests under eighteen, and its own experience in the trade goes back to 1978. For two people who want mornings by the pool and evenings that end with nothing louder than the sea, this is where you stop.

The buildings are newly renovated, set into the hills above the water, with panoramic views the site itself points to. Five rooms in total, which keeps the pool and the private garden from ever feeling crowded. Breakfast starts early for anyone heading out on one of the boat tours nearby, and dinner in the restaurant, YAMAS, is a fixed three-course menu once the light goes. There is a cocktail bar with its own shisha bar beside it, a second bar at the pool for an ice cream or something colder, and a third bar indoors for when the wind comes up off the water. Sunbeds and umbrellas by the pool cost nothing extra, and neither does the fitness room.

Eva Mare Hotel & Suites sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at evamare.gr, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The pool and bar

A single sweet-water pool sits at the centre of the hotel, ringed by free sunbeds and shaded by a pergola, with the Jasmin cocktail bar built onto its edge. From the veranda the view runs clean over the rooftops to the bay of Agia Pelagia; the bar pours coffee and cold drinks through the day and mixes cocktails into the evening, and the pool itself is free to every guest.

A Cretan breakfast

Breakfast is the quiet ceremony of the day. Chefs cook to order at a live station, turning out eggs, pancakes and sweets, beside a long Cretan table of local honey, olives, sesame paste and cheese set out in earthenware bowls. Yamas, the hotel's own restaurant, carries the same idea through lunch and dinner, with local and Mediterranean plates in a dining room painted the pale colours of the island.

We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel and based on our experience, we would recommend it. We travelled with 2 small children (1yr & 3yr old), which was made easier by having booking the exec room in the hotel....

Our tips

Dinner at YAMAS

The hotel's own restaurant, YAMAS, serves a fixed three-course dinner once the sun is down, with an early sitting for anyone up before the heat. Ask for a table on the terrace to keep the last of the light.

The cocktail bar and shisha

Beside the restaurant is a cocktail bar with its own list, and a shisha bar right next to it for evenings that don't need to go anywhere. The pool bar pours the same drinks by day, plus ice cream for anyone not ready to leave a sunbed.

Agia Pelagia's centre, on foot

The centre of Agia Pelagia is about a kilometre away, roughly ten minutes on foot. Come back up to a pool and a garden with nobody else in it.

Row out from Psaromoura Beach

The beach is under a hundred metres down the hill, close enough for rowing or canoeing straight off the sand. Snorkelling, scuba diving and water-skiing are all arranged nearby for anyone who wants more than a swim.
