H Royal Marmin Bay Rooms & prices

The road into Elounda curves along Mirabello Bay until the hillside opens onto stone terraces built into the slope; that is where Royal Marmin Bay stands, five rooms cut into a hill of local stone, angled for the whole blue view. It is the first energy-efficient, ecologically built hotel in Greece, and it is adults only. For anyone who wants the bay and nothing between them and it.

Inside, the rooms run terracotta and dark blue against white walls, furniture built to order rather than bought from a catalogue, and Cretan stone left showing where the architects could manage it — the same stone the whole hillside is built from. Five rooms only, one to each of the five design types, and at least one opens onto its own pool, which is why the terraces rarely feel shared. The hotel spreads amphitheatrically down the hill toward Mirabello Bay, so the water is the view from nearly every window, the mountains behind it and the Mediterranean and Cretan seas meeting somewhere out past Elounda. Downstairs, Euphoria Spa runs two steam baths, two saunas and three massage rooms, one built for two, worked with organic, natural skincare rather than a branded product line.

Royal Marmin Bay sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Rooms over the bay

Every category is oriented at the water, and the top rooms add their own jacuzzi or pool cut into the terrace. The detailing is deliberately theatrical in places — one suite has a whole Venetian arcade painted behind the bed — but the view does the real work, and the balcony doors stay open most of the day.

Euphoria Spa

The spa is a set of white vaulted rooms under the hotel, with a Turkish steam bath, a sauna and treatment tables set in pairs. Massage, facials and spa packages run all day, and the fitness room and classes sit alongside for anyone who wants the other kind of morning.

Staff started off lovely, upon leaving they couldn't care less. I appreciate that the day of bad weather meant that the spa was busy but I feel more could of been done to accommodate us for a treatment. All in all...

This is an amazing resort that really surprised me. The staff was great. I highly recommend the ala-cart restaurant, Poseidon. I ate there twice and the food is of the utmost quality. The service was also impeccable....

Our tips

The couple's room at Euphoria Spa

Euphoria Spa keeps two steam baths, two saunas and three massage rooms, one of them built for two — worth booking for the last hour before dinner. Everything is done with organic, natural skincare rather than a branded line, down to the manicures.

Breakfast on your own terrace

Room-service breakfast is one of the house's own listed services. Have it brought to the terrace instead of walking down to a dining room, and eat facing the bay the hotel is built to overlook.

The islet of Spinalonga

Spinalonga, the islet the hotel names for its long history, sits out in Mirabello Bay within sight of the hillside. Boats leave from the harbour at Elounda village below, and the warm shallows of the Kolokitha Peninsula lie along the same stretch of coast.

A private pool of your own

The five rooms come in five different designs, and more than one carries its own pool set into the terrace — worth asking which is which before you book, since the hillside means the view changes room to room. All are finished in terracotta and dark blue, with furniture built to order rather than pulled from a catalogue.
