H IVY Hotel Rooms & prices

St Julian's is Malta's entertainment district, and Ivy Hotel stands in the middle of it, four hundred metres from Portomaso Marina and a seven-minute walk from St George's Bay Beach. There is one room to book here — a Deluxe Double or Twin with a balcony — and the hotel takes no guests under eighteen. For a couple who want the marina and the beach within walking distance and nothing more to arrange.

Inside: tiled floors, a private bathroom, and a balcony, with soundproofing between the room and whatever the entertainment district is doing outside. Air-conditioning and free WiFi are standard, along with a minibar and a tea and coffee maker, so a morning can start without leaving the room. The bed itself is bespoke — a king, or split into two twins, depending on who is travelling. Downstairs there is a bar, a concierge, room service, and a front desk that runs through the night; check-in and check-out are handled privately, without a shared desk. Bicycle parking and car hire are arranged through the hotel, for whichever way you mean to reach the marina or the beach.

IVY Hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at ivyhotel.mt, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The deluxe rooms

Every room here is the same Deluxe Double or Twin, and the point is flexibility: the bespoke bedding configures as a plush king for a couple or two twin beds for friends travelling together. Each opens to its own balcony, and each keeps a desk, satellite television, a mini fridge and tea and coffee things tucked into the oak joinery, with a separate shower behind marble tile.

The planted courtyard

Behind the lobby a small courtyard is dressed with tall palms, a strip of lawn and folding bistro tables, a pocket of green to take a coffee away from the street. Glass walls fold the same light into the breakfast room, where the morning spread is laid out beneath track lighting before the day begins and the quarter wakes up.

Our tips

The Deluxe balcony room

The bed converts between a king and two separate twins, so it can be booked either way. There's a minibar and a tea and coffee maker in the room, and a balcony for the evening air without going back downstairs.

The bar downstairs

Room service and a bar cover the basics without leaving the building; the tea and coffee maker in the room does the rest for a slow morning. When you do go out, Bay Street Shopping Complex is five hundred metres away.

St George's Bay Beach

Seven minutes on foot, with water sports and scuba diving on offer at the beach itself — back to the room and the balcony once you're done.

Portomaso Marina

Four hundred metres away, this is the closest thing to a landmark — boats, and the Love Monument nearby. Malta International Airport is nine kilometres out, if you're timing the trip home.
