Five rooms in total, which is why the stairwell never feels crowded. Breakfast comes to the room rather than to a shared table downstairs, and check-in is handled privately, without a queue at the desk. Outside the door, the town does the rest — the harbour, the Old Town walls, the beach — all within a short walk, so the hotel asks little of you beyond a balcony to spend the morning on.

My Thai serves Chinese and Thai plates every day from noon to midnight, in the centre of town — useful if you want a night off from Greek food. Nisos, nearby, keeps to the stews, grilled fish and ouzo instead.
The organised beach is close enough for a swim before lunch — green-blue water, multi-coloured umbrellas, water sports for the two of you who want them. The Marine Aquarium sits at the far end, if you want shade for an hour instead. Back in the room by three, with the balcony doors open.
A paved path runs 1.3 kilometres along the coast to Kato Petres, a rockier stretch than Elli and with fewer people on it. Go for the last hour of light and walk back as the town's lamps come on.
