Rhodes Town is where the day starts for anyone booking a tour inland: the vans for Embona and its vineyards leave from the Old Town, run by the same address that pours the wine at night. Five rooms sit above a cellar of more than 250 Greek labels at 10GR Boutique Hotel & Wine Bar, which takes no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants a stay built around what is in the glass, not the view from the room.
Downstairs, the list runs past 250 Greek labels, with every winery on Rhodes given its own shelf beside the country's better-known regions. From October to April, at eight o'clock each Tuesday, the bar hands the evening to a different island winery for a tasting of its rarer bottles, no booking required, until the series pauses for summer. The glasses are Spiegelau and Riedel, the water on the table is still, and the bread comes with olive oil rather than butter. Five rooms mean the courtyard tables rarely fill twice over in one night, and whoever is pouring can usually tell you the slope and the year without checking a card.
10Gr Boutique Hotel & Wine Bar sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
Above the lanes, a long rooftop terrace threads between the upper suites, each with its own shaded seat under a timber pergola and walls washed in blue and warm earth. It is the private side of the house: a place to take breakfast in the sun, to read through the afternoon, or to watch the light fade over the Medieval Walls with a glass in hand while the old town stirs below.
At street level sits the reason many people find their way here: a genuine wine bar built into the vaulted stone, with more than two hundred and fifty Greek labels drawn from vineyards across the mainland and islands. The cellar runs deep in old vintages and rare bottles, the staff know every one, and a short menu of Greek cheeses, cold cuts and small plates is designed to sit beside whatever you choose to open.

The house lists these as things to do from here. Where a line is marked off-site it is not on the property — a dive site, a trail, a stable. That mark is ours, not theirs.
From October to April, at eight each Tuesday, the wine bar turns the evening over to a single Rhodian or mainland Greek winery, working through a tasting of its premium and rarer bottles. There is no need to book ahead — just turn up before the series pauses for the summer at the end of April.
The Private Food and Wine Experience runs about two hours: five courses and a dessert, five of them matched to a glass of wine apiece, talked through as they arrive by the resident sommelier. The menu shifts with whatever Greek produce is in season, and reservations need at least two days' notice.
The private tour to Embona and its vineyards leaves from the Old Town by van and returns four to five hours later, having worked through a tasting of a dozen wines across several of the island's cellars and a walk through the vines themselves. Ask for it paired with breakfast at 10GR beforehand, and you're back at the bar before the afternoon heat sets in.
Skip the full-day version and taste the island in under an hour instead: a sparkling opener from the oldest sparkling-wine producer on Rhodes, followed by three reds, whites and rosés from a vineyard that has been making wine, in some form, for about 3500 years. Book two days ahead — the tasting seats two to eight at a time.
