H Villa di Bias Rooms & prices

In Tirtagangga, on Indonesia's eastern side, Villa di Bias takes no guest under eighteen. It runs its own kitchen, its own driver, and its own infinity pool, so little of the day needs planning before you land. There are only four rooms, which is why the pool and the garden rarely have anyone else in them. For anyone who wants a week where the diving, the hiking, and every meal are already arranged, and nothing else is.

There is a kitchen that sends breakfast to the room instead of a dining hall, and a cook who runs a class for anyone who wants to learn the dishes rather than just eat them. Diving, fishing, and hiking are all arranged from the same desk that meets you at the airport, and a car goes back out for whichever one you choose. Massage is booked the same way, and housekeeping comes once a day. Anything else — a bike tour, a late dinner, a second towel — goes through the phone in the room rather than a lobby you have to find. The house has no restaurant to name and no cook's name to give you, only the list of what it does: a kitchen, a pool, a garden, and a rule that keeps out anyone under eighteen.

Villa di Bias sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The infinity pool

The black-tiled pool runs the length of the villa and reaches out over the edge of the hill, its far lip dissolving into the palms and rice terraces beyond. Loungers and a shaded terrace line the water a step from the bedrooms' glass doors, so a swim is never more than a few paces from the pillow. Mornings belong to the water and the birds; there is little else to hear.

Rooms of glass

Inside, the rooms are pared back and full of light. A long teak daybed sits in the corner where two walls of glass meet, angled at the terraces so you can lie and watch cloud shadows cross the valley. Beyond the balcony rail the fields step downhill toward a distant line of sea, and the only decoration the room really needs is the window itself.

Our tips

The cooking class

The kitchen runs a class instead of just a dinner service, so if you want the recipe behind a dish, ask before it is plated. Breakfast, if you would rather skip the class, comes straight to the room.

Diving, fishing, hiking, arranged

All three go through the same desk that meets you at the airport, and a car takes you back out whenever you choose one. None of it needs booking days ahead — you ask, and a driver goes.

Four rooms, one pool

There are only four rooms here, so the infinity pool and the garden are rarely anyone else's. Housekeeping comes once a day and otherwise leaves you alone.

Everything through the phone

A mobile app takes the place of a front desk — a bike tour, a massage, a late dinner, a second towel, all go through it instead of you having to find someone in a lobby.
