H Nalini Resort Rooms & prices

East Bali's coast thins out past Amed into Banyuning, a stretch of pebble beach with a Japanese shipwreck about a hundred metres up the sand. Nalini Resort sits right on that beach, seven rooms and a freshwater pool between the road and the water. It takes no guests under eighteen, and the sunrise here — straight across the strait to Lombok — is reason enough to be up for it. For two people who want a week where snorkeling off the front step counts as the day's excursion.

Rooms are simple: king beds under mosquito nets, ceiling fans over the air conditioning, mountain-view terraces built for a slow coffee. Bathrooms are open and spacious, fed by a twin-pump system so the water pressure holds even when every room is full. The pool-view rooms sit just behind the pool, thirty metres of pebble beach beyond the terrace; the Honeymoon Suite climbs its own private stairs to a bedroom that looks straight over the Bali Sea to Lombok. Seven rooms in total, which is why the beach never feels claimed. Water comes filtered and UV-treated from the mountain springs behind the resort, though bottled is still what's poured at the table.

Nalini Resort sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

By the sea

The ocean suites sit almost on the water. From a tiled terrace behind a glass rail -- a carved turtle worked into the wall, rattan chairs turned to the horizon -- the Bali Sea fills the view, with Lombok and the passing fishing jukungs beyond. The beach lies about thirty metres from the terrace, and the snorkelling reef begins some twenty metres off the sand. Mornings here start early: the eastern coast holds one of the finest sunrises anywhere, and guests drift down to the grass to watch the light come up.

The garden bungalows

Set back from the water, the garden bungalows stand among frangipani and croton, stepping-stone paths and clipped lawn, with the foothills of Mount Agung rising behind. Each has its own shaded veranda with low timber chairs, a king-size bed indoors beneath a canopy net, and both ceiling fans and air conditioning for the warm east-Bali afternoons. It is the greener, more sheltered side of the resort -- a short barefoot walk from the pool and the beach restaurant.

Our tips

Dinner at the Boatshed

The restaurant sits on the pebble beach, air-conditioned against the East Bali heat, and splits its menu between local Balinese cooking and Chef Brian's Western and Asian a la carte. It looks straight out over the Bali Sea to Lombok, so the view does most of the work once the food arrives.

Snorkel off the front beach

The reef starts about 20 metres out from Nalini's own sand, and the Japanese shipwreck lies roughly a hundred metres along the beach. No boat required — just walk in from the terrace.

Tirta Gangga and Ujung palaces

Both water palaces make a full day out from Nalini, and the resort's own drivers will take you there and back — in time for dinner at the Boatshed.

Sunrise across the strait

East Bali's sunrises reach clear across to Lombok, and it isn't unusual to find other guests already out on the beach grass with cameras before the sun clears the water. Coffee from your own terrace works just as well, if you'd rather not join them.
