H Riad Dar Dialkoum Rooms & prices

Behind a plain door in Bab Doukkala, Riad Dar Dialkoum turns its back on the noise of the Medina and opens onto a courtyard of orange trees, a heated plunge pool and a sky strung with brass lanterns. A riad takes its name from the Arabic word for garden, and this one has been quietly kept since 2012 as a house for adults: six rooms, a rooftop for the sun, and the particular hush that only an inward-facing home can hold.

The six bedrooms are each their own composition of zellij tilework, tadelakt plaster and carved cedar, cooled by high ceilings and dressed in kilim rugs and hand-pierced lamps. Several fold open onto the courtyard through stained-glass doors, so morning arrives already coloured.

Riad Dar Dialkoum sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Behind carved doors

No two rooms repeat themselves. A canopy bed stands beneath a fretwork screen, a brass tray waits with fruit and mint, and a stained-glass door folds back to the courtyard where the orange trees begin. Bathrooms are finished in polished tadelakt and zellij, the old Marrakech crafts kept at close quarters rather than behind glass.

Up on the roof

A stair climbs to the terrace, where a Berber tent shades low banquettes, floor cushions and a zellij table set for mint tea. In the evening the flat roofs of the Medina turn copper and the sky opens overhead; it is the riad's quietest corner, kept for the couples and adults who came here to slow down.

Our tips

A dip in the plunge pool

The courtyard pool is heated and kept clear the year round, tucked in among the orange and pomegranate trees. It is the place to cool off between long mornings in the souks, then dry out in the sun beside it.

Mint tea on the rooftop

Climb to the tented terrace for the classic riad ritual: a pot of sweet mint tea poured from a height, taken under the sun-shades as the Medina rooftops go copper at dusk.

Learn a Moroccan tagine

Ask at reception and the riad will set up a cooking class, so you leave able to fold your own msemen and slow-cook a tagine the way the kitchen here does it for breakfast.

Into the souks and Jemaa el-Fnaa

The riad sits in the Bab Doukkala quarter, an easy fifteen-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa and the covered souks. Staff hand you a marked map at check-in, so the maze of the Medina feels navigable from the first evening.
