The old center of Larnaka, a few streets back from the sea, is where one family's house has stood since the late eighteen hundreds — long enough to fall derelict, get heritage-listed, and be rebuilt around its arches and wooden beams. Cross the footbridge and you're in a new wing; between the two, seven rooms and a roof pool make up Lokàl Boutique Hotel. It takes no guests under eighteen — kept for anyone who wants the old town within walking distance and a quiet room to come back to.
Inside the old house, the arches and the original wooden beams are what survived the restoration; everything else was rebuilt around them, not over them. Cross into the new wing and you reach the roof, where the pool looks toward the sunset the hotel photographs itself by, the old town laid out below. Relish, the bistro downstairs, runs a seasonal list built mostly on local wine, and by three each afternoon it moves outside for tea — mini tarts, glazed éclairs, madeleines, carried up to the pool terrace if that is where you would rather sit. It seats guests by reservation only, a day's notice the minimum it asks.
Lokàl Boutique Hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at lokalcyprus.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
Built by the owners' forebears and left derelict for years, the listed building was brought back through patient restoration. Traditional arches and original timber now sit beside a newly-built wing, the two joined by a connecting bridge, so that every walk through the hotel crosses quietly between the past and the present.
Up on the roof, a slim pool carries the light over Larnaka's low skyline, best at the hour the sun drops behind the town. From three in the afternoon Relish lays out its afternoon tea here as well — mini tarts, éclairs and madeleines brought up to the water's edge for anyone who would rather swim than sightsee.

The house lists these as things to do from here. Where a line is marked off-site it is not on the property — a dive site, a trail, a stable. That mark is ours, not theirs.
Relish bistro sets out afternoon tea from three until six every day, and it will carry the tray up to the pool terrace if you'd rather sit there than in the dining room — mini tarts, cupcakes, glazed éclairs, madeleines, sticky cookies, your own pot of tea. It's by reservation, at least a day ahead.
The bistro's menu changes with the seasons and leans on a mostly local wine list. Like tea, dinner is reservation-only with a minimum of twenty-four hours' notice, so book the table when you book the room.
The hotel sits near Larnaca International Airport and can arrange your pickup and drop-off directly — ask for it when you book rather than at the front desk on arrival.
The building was put up by the current owners' forefathers in the late eighteen hundreds, then stood derelict long enough to be heritage-listed before the family brought it back. Ask which room sits in the original house rather than the new wing, if the arches and beams are what you came for.
