H Cerro da Marina Rooms & prices

The road up from Albufeira's new marina climbs through a run of villa streets before it reaches a garden wall; behind it, six rooms sit inside grounds the hotel describes as ample and leafy, with open country running one way and the sea the other. Cerro da Marina keeps to itself here — HUSH read the house rules: no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants the main beach 700 metres off and nothing else scheduled.

The hotel's own words for the rooms are spacious and elegant, and the same is true, it says, of the rooms downstairs. What carries the description is the garden around them — ample, leafy, wrapped close enough to the villas that it does the work of privacy by itself, open country on one side of the view and the sea on the other. Six rooms is few enough that the outdoor pool, the jacuzzi and the sauna rarely hold more than a couple of guests at a time. There is a spa for massages, a room kept for snooker, and a bar and a restaurant for whatever is left of the evening. The nearest golf course is about four kilometres out, one of a good many across this stretch of the Algarve coast.

Cerro da Marina sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at booking.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The spa

Tucked into the garden is a small wellness retreat built for two. A couples' treatment room waits under a timber ceiling, its beds dressed in white with sheer curtains filtering the light, where massages and facials are booked by the hour. Beyond it lie a steam room and, out on the deck beneath a wooden pergola, an outdoor jacuzzi ringed by loungers and a hanging chair — somewhere to sit as the sky goes dark and the garden lights come on.

The table

Meals are taken in a warm, characterful dining room: ochre walls and timber beams, wicker chairs at marble-topped tables, a round porthole mirror and pierced-metal lamps casting patterns overhead. Mornings begin with a generous buffet breakfast laid by the windows — breads and pastries, cured meats and cheese, fruit and fresh juice — with the arched courtyard and garden just beyond the glass. There is a pub, too, for a quiet drink when the evening settles.

Short but steep walk to the old town of Albufeira. Included a good breakfast and free Wi-Fi, nice grounds. Quite at night so good for sleeping.

Only at hotel for 2 night break. Room comfortable and quiet but bathroom floor could have been a bit cleaner. TV had very few channels. Decent buffet breakfast with good selection, also well stocked mini bar in room....

Poor breakfast & attitude otherwise ok

Our tips

The outdoor jacuzzi and sauna

Both sit by the pool, and with only six rooms in the house neither is often shared with more than one other couple. Book a massage at the spa beforehand — it is the one treatment the hotel names, so there is nothing else to choose between.

Dinner without leaving the garden

The restaurant and bar are both on site, so there is no need to drive out after a day on the sand. If the evening runs long, snooker is set up in its own room.

The main beach, a walk away

Albufeira's main beach is 700 metres from the garden wall, with what the hotel calls a good number of other beaches further along the coast. Back at the hotel, the pool and the jacuzzi are exactly where you left them.

Golf, four kilometres out

The nearest course is about four kilometres from the door, one of a long list spread across this part of the Algarve. Come back to the sauna and a table at the bar.
