H Aqua Pedra dos Bicos Rooms & prices

The path down from Urbanização Quinta Pedra dos Bicos runs through a stand of pine on the cliff top, and five minutes more gets you to the sand at Praia dos Bicos. At the top of it: Aqua Pedra dos Bicos, four rooms over the Atlantic, adults only. There is a rooftop bar built for the view and a wellness room built for nothing at all. For two people who want a week where the only decision is which terrace to sit on.

Inside, the pull is the window: sea-facing rooms with air conditioning against the Algarve heat, a smart TV nobody switches on before the view has had its say. Four rooms in total, so the pool below never fills and the walk up to the rooftop bar stays short. Dinner in the Serenata restaurant runs 7pm to 10pm in summer, earlier in winter, a Mediterranean buffet built around local specialities; downstairs in the Lounge Bar the tapas menu holds octopus pica-pau and prego in bolo do caco, with a piano playing most evenings from six until ten. Skip the housekeeping if you'd rather — the hotel's Green Key programme pays back five euros a day per room to spend at the bar.

Aqua Pedra dos Bicos sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at aquapedradosbicoshotel.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The rooftop

Take the lift to the top and the hotel opens out: a rooftop lounge of low sofas and crimson parasols set against a near-360-degree sweep of the Algarve coast. It is the place to be at the end of the day, a cocktail in hand while the sun drops into the Atlantic and the pine canopy below turns gold. Come evening it stays an adults' space, unhurried and quiet.

Sea-view rooms

Each room is built around its window. Beds sit low under an orange-leaf canvas, a long timber desk runs to the glass, and the balcony frames the pines and the blue line of the ocean past them. The palette is deliberately restrained, all sand and stone and warm wood, so nothing competes with the light coming off the water. Mornings begin with the sea already in the room.

Our tips

D'Wellness before dinner

D'Wellness books its Oriental massages and facials 24 hours ahead, so put your name down the morning you arrive. Time it for late afternoon, ahead of dinner at Serenata, and the calm holds until the piano starts downstairs.

Tapas at the Lounge Bar

The Lounge Bar runs its tapas menu from six to ten most evenings, piano or ambient music going in the lobby behind it: order the octopus pica-pau and the prego in bolo do caco together and split them. There is nowhere to be afterwards but the lift.

Praia dos Bicos, five minutes down

The beach is five minutes down through the pine grove on the cliff top, and the sand runs on from there towards Praia da Oura. Come back up for the rooftop bar in the evening, open on all sides to the Algarve coastline.

La Quinta, peak season only

La Quinta, the pizza and gastro bar by the pool, runs daily from ten in the morning to half past five for pizzas, smash burgers and salads — but only in peak season. It closes from November to March, so ask at reception what's running instead.
