H WET hotel Rooms & prices

Before the pool opens at eight, the loudest thing nearby is the surf, five minutes down the road, and Tamarindo's centre waking up two minutes the other way. Eight rooms sit between the two: this is WET hotel, and it takes no guests under eighteen, photo identification checked at the desk before anyone gets a key. For two people who want the beach and a late bar, with no one else's kids in the pool with them.

Inside, the rooms run to Venetian plaster and polished chrome, one accent wall lit differently in each, and a terrace outside every door. The King rooms sit on the ground floor with an oversized bed and a 55-inch screen; the Twin rooms take two Twin XL beds and the same wall of glass, built for friends who want separate beds but one view. Eight rooms is few enough that the saltwater pool below never turns into a crowd: three decks of loungers, a wide step built to stand at, drink in hand, and benches set into the water itself. A bartender pours a welcome drink at check-in, and the lounge by reception fills the gap before a room is ready.

WET hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at wethotel.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The pool deck

The heart of WET is its deck: a rectangular pool ringed by loungers and shaded tables, wrapped in clipped hedges and frangipani. By day it is for swimming and slow sun; after dark the water and the deck lights shift through colour, and the evening slides easily from a last swim to a first drink. It is the sort of courtyard you settle into and do not really leave.

The colour rooms

Each room commits to a single colour. A saturated accent wall, emerald or tangerine, stands behind a crisp white platform bed, offset by a moulded designer chair and a wall of glass to the garden. Air conditioning and a ceiling fan keep it cool through the tropical afternoon, while a backlit mirror and a walk-in rain shower handle the rest. The suites add a lounge chair and a walk-in closet.

Lourdes, the front desk person, is kind and always takes care of and pays attention to have a nice time. Greg is a funny, kind, charming, nice-talking guy and the owner; thanks, Greg, for your kind support.

We were not able to enjoy the food, but Greg and the hotel staff were very friendly, the pool was very good, the location was excellent as was very close to the town and the rooms were good.
Carol Canada · young couple 10
Great location, friendly staff, clean brand new hotel with a great pool and bar that serves coffee and breakfast in the morning. 5 minutes from the beach, amenities, restaurants, bars and shopping.

Our tips

The pool's built-in bar

The saltwater pool has benches set right into the water and a wide step made for standing at, drink in hand — three decks of loungers wrap around it, some in full sun and some tucked into shade. It runs from eight in the morning to ten at night, and the hotel occasionally opens it to outside guests on a day-pass basis, so an early lap before the deck fills is worth setting an alarm for.

Cocktails and coffee at LUV

LUV, the bar off the lobby, pours handcrafted cocktails and barista coffee under its own soundtrack, and a bartender has a welcome drink ready the moment you check in. There's a casual lounge attached too, useful for the wait if your room isn't ready before three.

Two minutes to Tamarindo's centre

The town's centre is a two-minute walk from the door — close enough to go find dinner without booking a car. Ask at the front desk first; staff know the area past the obvious spots and can also arrange the transfer out to either airport.

Five minutes to the beach

The sand is a five-minute walk, no car needed for a swim before breakfast or a sunset before dinner. Walk back up for a rinse and a lounger on the pool deck before LUV starts pouring for the evening.
