The road climbs out of Ciudad Cortés and into the hills above Ojochal, on Costa Rica's South Pacific coast, until the jungle drops away and a pool appears with the ocean spread out past it. This is Vista Villa: two suites built into that hillside, close enough to town for a fridge to stay stocked, far enough that the wake-up call is a howler monkey. For anyone who wants mornings with nothing scheduled but coffee and the view.
Inside, the suites keep to a short list of materials: white linens, a pillow-top bed, a ceiling fan turning slowly overhead. The bathroom holds nothing more than soap, shampoo and a hairdryer, and the window is most of the wall, holding jungle first, then ocean beyond it, then the pool directly below. Wake to howler monkeys before the tropical birds start in earnest, and step out onto your own terrace or balcony rather than a shared one. There are two suites only, which is why the pool sun loungers are never claimed before you get to them. A fridge and an ice bucket mean the day can start, or end, without leaving the room.
Vista Villas sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
Each of the four suites looks out to the valley and the Pacific through wide windows and a private terrace door. Inside there is white linen, a ceiling fan and quiet air conditioning, a smart TV and a small fridge; outside, the sound of the forest and an uninterrupted line to the horizon.
Days settle onto the terrace, where a table and chairs face out over the treetops to a thin blue strip of ocean. Breakfast is included and cooked to order, Costa Rican gallo pinto and eggs among the choices, and the free-form pool waits a few steps below in its garden of palms and heliconia.

The house lists these as things to do from here. Where a line is marked off-site it is not on the property — a dive site, a trail, a stable. That mark is ours, not theirs.
Full breakfast is included and eaten wherever you like — most mornings that means the terrace, with the pool below and the valley beyond it. Come down early enough and the howler monkeys are still going.
Down in Ojochal, the Bamboo Room puts on live entertainment most nights, if you want something past dinner. It sits alongside Ojochal's usual run of casual kitchens — Heliconia, Fusion, Los Gatos Locos — should you want to compare.
When you want something lighter than a full dinner, Pancito Café does pastries and light lunches in Ojochal. For a more considered table, Citrus, Exotica or Kua at Hotel Three-Sixty are the refined options in town.
The front desk keeps limited hours, so catch them early if you want kayaking, a boat tour or a day at the hot springs arranged — ziplining and rafting can go through them too. Come back after, and the pool is exactly as you left it.
