H Pension Fellis Rooms & prices

At the edge of Völs am Schlern, where the meadows give way to the Dolomites' UNESCO wall of rock, a lane climbs onto the Peterbühel — settled, the site says, since the Bronze Age. Five rooms end here, most with balconies pointed at the peaks. Pension Fellis keeps things plain: no televisions in the rooms, a library for wet days, a garden for the rest. For anyone travelling alone, or as a pair who wants nothing on the calendar.

Rooms run small on purpose: a 14-square-metre double with a shower, a bar of soap, a hairdryer by the mirror, or a superior double at 26 square metres with two bathrooms of its own. Most open onto a balcony wide enough for a table and two chairs, WiFi reaching every corner but no television in the rooms to argue with the quiet. Five rooms only, so the garden below rarely holds more than a handful of people at a time, and whatever reaches it is birds and wind through the meadow, nothing engineered for the purpose. Roman and his team run the house, and point you toward the cable car once the snow comes in.

Pension Fellis sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The panorama balcony

Behind the house a broad panorama balcony looks clear across the valley to the ranges beyond, a deck chair set out to catch the afternoon sun. Almost every room has its own balcony too, wide enough for a small table, and on a fine day the view does most of the work — meadows falling away below, wooded ridges opposite, and the light shifting over the peaks until evening comes on.

Quiet and books

Peace is the point here, and the house protects it. A corner library lined floor to ceiling with books draws you in on a grey afternoon, a cushioned bench under the leaded window and a rug underfoot. There is no television to fill the silence; instead there are the sounds of the garden, a shelf of guides to the valley, and the unhurried rhythm of a place that expects you to do very little at all.

Our tips

The library on a rainy day

There's no television in the rooms, so a wet morning sends you to the library instead, a shelf of books and whatever quiet the garden isn't offering that day. On clear afternoons take it outside — the garden faces straight at the meadow.

Breakfast before the walk

Breakfast is a buffet, included, and with five rooms in the house it rarely fills the dining room. Eat before the paths up Peterbühel, or the wider hiking and biking network the house sits at the start of, get going.

The pond and the church

A path leaves the house, circles a small pond, and climbs to the church at the top of Peterbühel — ground settled, the site says, since the Bronze Age. The benches around it are there to be used, not just looked at, then it's back to the library if the weather turns.

Seiser Alm by cable car

In winter, the cable car up to the Seiser Alm is a few minutes away by car or by shuttle bus, according to the site. Ride up for the day, then back down to the library and no television once the light goes.
