In the heart of Alghero, a short walk from the Lido and the sea, Hotel Giardino La Playa reopened in 2025 as an adults-only house built around a single idea: quiet. Its garden, redesigned by the architect Bruno Concas into a green oasis rare for this part of town, wraps a pool in Mediterranean planting, and the whole place is given over to adults who want their days to run slowly.
The thirty-three rooms are intimate and light-filled, each with a private balcony that looks either over the garden and pool or out toward the everyday life of the city. Inside, a bespoke design line by the Cagliari designer Mara Damiani carries the garden indoors, with oak panelling, soft botanical prints and colours drawn from the same Mediterranean plants that fill the grounds.
Hotel Giardino La Playa sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at hotelgiardinolaplaya.it, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
The garden is the hotel's true protagonist. Bruno Concas reshaped it into a walled oasis of olive, palm, lavender and flowering shrubs, with a pool set among the greenery and loungers and umbrellas laid out from mid-morning to early evening. It is a place for a long swim, a slow book and conversations that drift, screened from the street by vegetation and shade.
Each of the thirty-three rooms was conceived to feel calm and unhurried. Natural light falls through light curtains onto oak panelling and hand-picked textures, while muted greens and framed botanical studies echo the plants outside. Every room opens onto its own small balcony, some facing the garden and pool, others turned toward the lively streets of Alghero just beyond.
