The Pelican Beach Resort sits on the sand of the Gulf of Olbia, its rooms in two low buildings, looking out to the island of Tavolara across the water. You reach it along Via Mar Adriatico on Sardinia's northeast coast, where the road ends at the beach. It is adults-only, split into two kinds of room: the Pelican Villa close to the shoreline, and the Main Building set back with terraces over the same view. In the Pelican Villa, doubles look onto either the sea or a flowering garden, furnished in the fabrics and colours the house calls elegant, at ground or first-floor level near the beach. In the Main Building, the rooms climb to a second floor, most no more than a hundred metres from the water, their balconies fitted with a small table and two chairs for the hour when the Gulf turns colour toward evening. The larger Comfort rooms add a separate sitting area for three. Twenty-two rooms in total, close enough together that the beach in front rarely feels crowded.
