Nine bedrooms fill the old terrace, no two quite alike. Some are small and cosy under the eaves; others are large kings with sliding doors that give onto a balcony and a chair set out for the sea. Grey tufted headboards and oak bedsides sit against pale panelling, glass carafes of water wait on the nightstand, and the artwork keeps to the ocean it overlooks. Come evening the harbour lights come on below the glass.
Mornings are the point of a stay here. The dining room fills with light off the water, a palm framed in the tall window, and a long table laid with the day's spread: homemade granola, compotes and preserves, warm pastries, cured fish and soft-boiled eggs, and afternoon bakes later on. The guest house shares its address with Outlaw's Bistro, so the same care for Cornish produce and the seasons runs from the plate at breakfast through to dinner.
