The lungomare at Cala Gonone runs out toward Palmasera, past the point where boats leave for Cala Luna, Cala Sisine and Cala Goloritzè, and it is there, on the seafront itself, that Margaida Boutique Hotel & Spa stands. The house is newly built, Mediterranean in its lines, and takes no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants the coves by day and a warm pool to come back to.

Inside, the house is new work in a Mediterranean style, standing on the Cala Gonone seafront. The spa carries the scent of myrtle and lentisco through the sauna and the Turkish bath, and the hydromassage pool is held at thirty-four degrees. After the heat there is an ice waterfall, then a cold shower with a brisk jet, then the relax room, where the tea is made from Sardinian herbs. Couples can take a treatment cabin together rather than side by side. Three rooms only, which is why the infinity pool outside rarely holds more than a handful of people at once.

Margaida Boutique Hotel & Spa sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at booking.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Rooms by the sea

The deluxe and superior rooms look straight out to the Mediterranean, each with a wide balcony set with a small table and loungers for the long afternoons. Behind the sliding doors the palette stays soft — warm wood, off-white, a wash of sage — while the bathrooms turn to glossy teal herringbone tile and a generous walk-in shower. The sea air moves through from the morning coffee to the last light on the water.

Breakfast on the balcony

Mornings arrive on the balcony: a tray of warm cornetti, fresh fruit and juice set on the little table while the sea opens up beyond the terracotta rooftops and a boat crosses the bay. Later the same spot turns to aperitivo hour, a spritz and a few olives as the light goes gold over the harbour. It is the kind of slow, private ritual this adults-only house is built around.

Location, clean rooms and hotel, nice quiet pool area, staff more than happy to accomodate with the extra little things such as beach umbrellas or coolers.

Our tips

The spa's hot-and-cold options

Take the sauna, the Turkish bath or the ice waterfall — whichever the day calls for — then let the cold shower's brisk jet bring you back to temperature. Finish in the relax room with a cup of tea made from Sardinian herbs.

Coffee without leaving the hotel

There's a coffee shop on site, so the first espresso of the day doesn't require a walk before the beach.

Boats to Cala Luna and beyond

The hotel stands on the lungomare itself, near where boats leave for Cala Luna, Cala Sisine, Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritzè — coves reached only by water or on foot. Spend the day out on the water, then come back to the hotel's own heated pool.

Palmasera's untouched beaches

Palmasera's beaches, close along this coast, are still free of buildings — part of the undeveloped shoreline that runs the length of Cala Gonone. Good for an afternoon with nothing scheduled.
