Little Fox Lodge stands apart from the other Hideaways at this small Glencoe estate, set back on its own behind them for a private nook to yourselves. Opened in May 2022, it is the newest of the houses here, self-catering and built with just the two of you in mind. It takes no guests under eighteen. For a couple who want a week with nothing scheduled but a hot tub and a fire, this is the lodge.

Inside, the kitchenette is the first room, a chandelier over the counter and everything you need if you feel like cooking. It opens straight into one shared living and dining space — squashy sofas, mood lighting turned low, a gas log burner for the colder months, and a smart TV for the nights you stay in. There is one bedroom only, so the deep sprung bed and the projector screen that rolls down over the wall are yours alone, no one else in the house. The en-suite bathroom holds a free-standing slipper bath built for two and a separate rainfall shower. Outside, the decking has sunloungers and a hot tub, open to whatever the Glencoe sky is doing that night.

Little Fox Lodge sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at glencoehideaways.co.uk, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

The private deck

The whole outdoors belongs to the two of you. A broad deck wraps the lodge, with cushioned loungers, a dining set beneath a pergola and, as its centrepiece, a private hot tub that bubbles away with the loch and hills spread out past the rail. Mornings can begin with fruit and coffee in the fresh Highland air; evenings end with the water warm and the sky going pink.

A cinema in bed

The kingsize bedroom keeps its best trick overhead: a projector and a roll-down screen that turn the room into a private cinema without anyone leaving the sheets. A deep-sprung mattress and high-thread-count linen do the rest, while the en-suite next door runs to a copper slipper bath built for two and a separate rainfall shower. It is a room designed for staying in.

Our tips

The projector wall

Ask for the screen down and the lights low: the bedroom's projector and roll-down screen turn the wall into a cinema for the night. Afterwards, the hot tub on the decking is lit and waiting outside.

Dinner from the local larder

The Glencoe and Fort William area keeps a strong local larder — expect seafood, serious baking and at least one Michelin-starred kitchen among the restaurants, pubs and cafés nearby. The lodge's own kitchenette, chandelier included, is there for the mornings you'd rather not go out.

Ben Nevis and the Jacobite Steam Train

Climb Ben Nevis, or take the Jacobite Steam Train — the one used as the Hogwarts Express — through the glens instead. Either way, you're back to the hot tub and the fire by evening.

Skiing in winter, the loch in summer

This is a place for every season: skiing the slopes in winter, a dip in the loch once it warms, distillery visits and craft shops whenever the weather turns. The gas log burner does the rest on the colder nights.
