As the evening comes the patio changes character: the lamps come on, the water turns to a lit lagoon, and the terrace settles into the kind of soft quiet the island is not always known for.
Each room is shaped in pale, hand-finished plaster, curved at the corners so the light falls gently across the walls. A wide bed sits under an arched niche and brass sconces; a wooden ceiling fan turns overhead. The bathrooms are the quiet luxury here, with sculpted basins, brass fittings and, in the deluxe rooms, a deep freestanding tub a few steps from the bed, so a long soak feels like part of the room rather than an afterthought.
