Tamarindo's beach is a five-minute walk from the gate, close enough for a swim before breakfast and far enough that the street noise stops at the garden wall. Behind that wall sit nine rooms, folded around a courtyard pool, at Hotel Casa Leona. HUSH read the house rules: it takes no guests under eighteen. For a couple who want to be near the town's restaurants without staying in the middle of them.
Nine rooms wrap a garden and a pool at the centre of the grounds, close enough that you can watch the water from more than one doorway, which is the point of building it there. The soaps and lotions are organic and made up in-house, laundry is done on site rather than sent out, and the air conditioning is enough to get you through a hot Tamarindo night. Breakfast comes with the room, plated in the morning before the day gets properly hot. Ask Danielle at the desk — she is the one who sorts a driver from the airport, or a boat out along the coast, if you want one.
Casa Leona Hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
Each studio is its own quiet corner. A bed under a beamed white ceiling, a fan turning slowly overhead, a kitchenette along one wall and French doors that fold back to a private terrace. Step out and the garden is right there, clipped hedges and a young shade tree, a table where the morning coffee can last as long as you like. Independent air conditioning keeps every room cool, and the stillness is rather the point.
Between the buildings the ground is all greenery: palms, crotons in flame colours and a tiled pavilion set into the slope where breakfast and long lunches happen out of the sun. Patterned stone paths link the studios to the main house, past hedges and potted plants and the odd corner made for doing nothing at all. It is a garden built for slow mornings, unhurried and full of birdsong.

Asking the house for its rooms…
The location was great, the place was beautiful and the staff was great, they were super nice and helpful! Delicious breakfast, beautiful and clean bathroom, nice gardens. Perfect place to get some rest
The newly build and nice location was a little walk away from the center, thus more quiet with a lovely surrounding. Extremly frindly stuff. Also due to this we decided for an extra day!
landscaping and decor

Nine rooms face the same pool, set at the centre of the garden rather than tucked to one side, so swim before eight and you will likely have it alone.
Breakfast comes with the room and is plated fresh each morning, so there is nothing to plan beyond walking down for it.
The sand is a five-minute walk from the gate — close enough for a swim before the day gets going, and an easy walk back to the pool once the sun gets serious.
The house runs its own spa and massage service, so an afternoon slot can be booked without leaving the garden — worth keeping for the day you decide not to go into town at all.
