H Bonnie Barns Rooms & prices

The farm track above Luss climbs onto the hillside before the first handcrafted barn comes into view, Loch Lomond spread out below it. Bonnie Barns is five timber barns on a working farm, each one built for two, each with its own hot tub facing the water. It is adults-only, kept for couples who want a few days with nothing on the agenda but the loch and the dark sky after sunset.

Inside each barn is oak-toned timber, a king-size bed, and a rainfall shower behind the en-suite door; the sofa is L-shaped, built for two with a stack of blankets, and tea, coffee and robes are already laid out when you arrive. The five barns take their names from islands out on the loch — Inchmurrin, Inchcailloch, Creinch among them — and each keeps its own private deck and hot tub, so five couples in residence at once never feels like five parties. The kitchen runs to a two-ring induction hob and a convection microwave, enough for the sunset dinner Creinch's own deck is built around. Dogs are welcome on a lead outdoors and loose in your own fenced garden.

Bonnie Barns sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at lennoxoflomond.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Barns on the hill

The barns sit well spaced across the fenced fields, each with its own private deck, a fenced garden and a two-person hot tub turned toward Loch Lomond. Clad in timber, they weather quietly into the hillside among the grazing sheep, and most of what you hear is birdsong, the wind and the occasional bleat from the next field. Every barn is named for one of the loch's scattered islands, and each keeps its own patch of the farm to itself.

Warm within

Step inside and the world narrows to one soft, wood-lined room made for two. A king-sized bed sits under the eaves, a deep sofa waits with blankets and a book, and the little kitchen holds everything for a slow breakfast or a late nightcap. Come in from a walk and the rainfall shower and a warm robe are ready; the wide window keeps the loch and the hills in view from the pillow, and fresh flowers and a slice of cake are often there to greet you.

Our tips

The hot tub after dark

Stay out once the sun drops behind the hills — Creinch's deck is built for exactly that, with the hot tub still warm and the stars starting overhead. There's no need to head back inside until you want to.

Dinner on your own deck

Every barn's kitchen runs to a two-ring induction hob and a convection microwave — enough for a simple dinner eaten outside while the light goes. Tea, coffee, sugar and salt are left waiting when you check in, so the first evening needs no shopping trip.

On the water

Canoeing and cycling routes run along the loch shore below the farm, and hiking paths climb into the hills straight from the door. Pack a picnic and head out before the hot tub calls you back.

Bring the dog

One well-behaved dog is welcome in each barn for a nightly fee, with a welcome pack of treats, a towel and poo bags waiting on arrival. On the lead outdoors on the farm, off it only in your own fenced garden.
