The road to Manzanillo ends where the pavement gives out and the Caribbean starts, three minutes on foot from a beach called Playa Grande. Behind the tree line, AIRE keeps three rooms and not much else — a plunge pool, a hammock strung for the jungle sounds, a stretch of garden the fireflies claim after dark. It takes no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants a week with the phone left in a drawer and nothing else on the calendar.
Three rooms means the plunge pool is never shared with people you didn't come with, and the coffee on the terrace looks out over a view worth taking slowly. The hammock catches the last of the light before the jungle sound takes over, and after dark the fireflies come out along the garden edge. Afternoons call for the plunge pool; cooler evenings, the hot spring bath. Parking is watched by camera, which buys the kind of quiet that only holds if no one has to think about the car.
AIRE Boutique Hotel sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at aireboutiquehotel.com, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.
Each suite is built to dissolve the line between inside and out. A low bed dressed in white linen faces floor-to-ceiling screens, and the rainforest presses in on every side - banana leaves, palms and the birds that work them at first light. Warm wood ceilings and soft, muted textiles keep the rooms intimate rather than exposed.
Paths of pale gravel and river stone thread between the suites, past fan palms, heliconia and elephant-ear leaves taller than a person. The whole property is planted as a garden that gives way to true rainforest, so the walk to your door is part of the stay: shaded, green and loud with birds.

The house lists these as things to do from here. Where a line is marked off-site it is not on the property — a dive site, a trail, a stable. That mark is ours, not theirs.
The beach is three minutes on foot, past the tree line, with no road to cross. Go early for the sand to yourself, or later in the day for the walk back with the light behind you and the plunge pool waiting at the end of it.
Breakfast comes to the room rather than a shared table, so there is no reason to hurry into the day. Take the coffee out to the terrace instead, for the view that goes with it.
Kept for the evening, once the heat has gone out of the day; the plunge pool covers the afternoons instead. Massage can be booked through the spa for whichever hour you'd rather not spend on the beach.
On a warm night the garden fills with them once the light goes — worth leaving the terrace lamp off for. Canoeing and horse riding can be arranged through the tour desk for the hours before.
