TREAS GLAZ

Plouescat sits on the north coast of Finistère, where the tide pulls back across the bay of Kernic and leaves the sand bare for what feels like a mile. Treas Glaz is the pizzeria and crêperie at the edge of it, and above the dining room there is exactly one room. The house takes no guests under eighteen. If you want good buckwheat crêpes, a terrace, and nobody else on the stairs, that one room is the whole point.

Inside, the kitchen turns out crêpes au blé noir and to wheat, pizza, and ice cream for whoever still has room, made mostly from produce that leans organic and local. Take a table inside or out on the terrace, for a coffee break or for lunch, while the tide does its work in the bay beyond. The dining room is the ground floor; the one room is upstairs, so you're the only overnight guest in the building. A beach sits close enough to reach on foot, with canoes and windsurfers going out from the water and a line to drop if fishing suits you better. Treas Glaz is one kitchen and one room, run as a single thing.
