Hotel Cube (Love Hotel)

Kitakyushu keeps its love hotels behind plain frontages, and Hotel Cube keeps things plainer again: run by the COCO Group, it has one room, not a corridor of them. The desk keeps limited hours rather than staying open all night, so check-in starts at four and you're asked to say when you're arriving if it's late. By eleven the next morning the room is empty again. It takes no guests under eighteen — one night, one room, nobody else's schedule in it.

The room itself is fitted plainly: air conditioning, a satellite flat-screen television, an electric kettle, basic toiletries, with towels and bed linen already down. What isn't listed is just as telling — the hotel's own material says nothing about soundproofing, so if the walls matter to you, ask before you book rather than find out on the night. Parking sits on site, and Hotel Cube has recently added electric vehicle charging for anyone driving in; self-parking carries a surcharge, and there's a discounted lot off the property if you'd rather leave the car elsewhere. Payment specifics aren't fixed in advance — those, like most things here, get settled at the desk when you arrive.
