North of Isetan along Meiji-dori, past the Nissin Foods building at the Shinjuku 6-chome junction, the city tightens into a quieter grid of backstreets. Hotel Atlas stands two crossings in, behind a lobby lined with pale marble and a welcome drinks bar. It is an adults-only hotel that takes no guests under eighteen, keeping deep artificial onsen tubs and dark screen-lined rooms for two people who want to step straight out of Shinjuku's neon and lose track of the clock entirely.

The only sound inside is the karaoke machine or water running into the tub. Marble runs across the entrance, the interior fittings, and into the washbasins. Upstairs, the rooms turn away from the city around large LCD screens, Blu-ray players, and bathtubs sized for two people to stretch out in artificial onsen water. In select rooms, the baths light up with underwater rainbow colours and blower jets, alongside Joysound karaoke setups wired for high-resolution sound. With rooms arranged across seven floors from type A to type H, each space is built for self-contained stays. You can call down for rental styling gear or DHC skincare, fill the tub, and spend the evening without stepping back outside.

HOTEL ATLAS Shinkabukicho (Adult Only) sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, read on 25 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Lovely little room in a hotel in the middle of Shinjuku. Only gripe was the bed, which was a thin mattress on a hard futon, and a bit rough on my back. Otherwise everything else was good.

Our tips

Room 202, 203, or 702

Ask for rooms 202, 203, or 702 if you want the Joysound MAX karaoke setup and the rainbow-lit blower tub. You can connect your own media to the Blu-ray player or run movies through the on-demand system while the bath fills.

Room service at dinner

Order directly to the room while partner kitchens are open: hot udon, soba noodles, Japanese bento, pasta, omurice, or Domino's pizza, paired with bottled wine.

Walks from Shinjuku Station

The house sits between five and ten minutes on foot from Shinjuku Station and the subway at Higashi-Shinjuku. Walk past the department stores along Meiji-dori before slipping back to the quiet end of Kabukicho 2-chome.

DHC bath kits and styling tools

Pick up a welcome drink in the lobby, then request loaner shampoo bottles and hair styling serums sent up to the room before running the artificial onsen.
