The Pennine Way passes the door, 850 feet up at the head of Wensleydale, inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park; Hawes town centre, with its shops, pubs and cafes, is 200 metres away. Ebor House stands three storeys, built by the Methodist Church in the late 1800s and finished in 1905, a bed and breakfast for the last seventy years. It takes no guests under eighteen. For anyone who wants long days on the Pennine Way and nothing scheduled at the end of them.
Two rooms, each en suite, kept non-smoking throughout the house and grounds — which is a small number to restore properly, and it shows in the period features kept alongside new furniture and fittings. There is a kettle and a television with a DVD player in the room, and free Wi-Fi if you want it, though the Pennine Way and Wensleydale below make a case for leaving the screen off. Bicycles go into a secure store rather than the hallway. Breakfast is full English, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free versions on request, and closing for the winter — Ebor House shuts from November to March — means the place only really opens once spring walking starts again. Alex and Angela Nunn run it, and keep their Border collie to their own half of the house.

The hosts were amazing, as previous reviews state, the hosts are really chatty and welcoming. We had lovely chats in the morning and we weren't rushed out of the dining room or bedroom on the last day. I thoroughly recommend.
