The pool is salt water, in-ground, reached by shallow steps with a rail rather than a ladder, and edged with tall trees and umbrellas for shade. A spa deep enough for four sits beside it, and at the back of the block two barbecues and an outdoor sofa mean dinner starts whenever you're ready, with someone else usually glad to join. Eighteen apartments, which is why the person behind the desk tends to remember your name by the second morning. There is a guest library, and a day bed for reading in the shade. Parking is undercover and free, beneath the building; the laundry room stays open from eight until seven, wine spills and all. Someone is at reception every day, and whoever is on the desk lives onsite and books your reef trip themselves.

In a great spot close to the beach and the town. The rooms were spacious and met our needs. All usual facilities including great air con and free laundry. Wash & Dry.
Attention to detail. Owners obviously try very hard to make every visitor as happy as possible. It’s location is excellent too.
Good room. Well designed. Can be open plan or can enclose the bedroom. Comfy bed, good shower. Small terrace with loungers. Very helpful staff when we were ill.

Two barbecues, a table and chairs, and an outdoor sofa sit at the back of the property, away from the street and well lit after sunset. There's rarely a wait to start dinner, and the sofa is there for whoever finishes cooking first.
The beach is a two-minute walk from the door, and reception keeps beach chairs, umbrellas and eskies ready to borrow before you go. The Sunday Markets are about ten minutes on foot, the Reef Marina a few minutes further.
Twenty minutes' drive south brings you into the rainforest at Mossman Gorge, a half-day out and back before dinner at the BBQ area, one of the two grills lit and the pool still warm from the afternoon.
Through the hottest months the days climb to about 31°C and can reach 35°C, with nights settling near 24°C. The salt-water pool, shaded by tall trees and umbrellas, is the answer, with plenty of sun loungers waiting in the shade.
