The road ends at Brøstadveien 343, in Brøstadbotn on the Dyrøy coast, where Northern Norway keeps its dark winters and its light-filled summers close together. A key box by the door lets you in from four in the afternoon; there is no desk, no queue. Attme Have takes no guests under eighteen, and the reason to come is the sky above it — northern lights from September to March, a sun that does not set from May to July. For anyone who wants a week set to nothing but that.

Attme Have works by season rather than by fixed picture: dark nights and Aurora Borealis overhead from September to March, then twenty-four hours of daylight from May to July, when fishing and hiking fill the light instead of sleep. Between the two, August into October brings ruska — the slow turn of the landscape into red and gold, kept for whoever wants to sit still and watch it happen. Outside, there is a garden, an outdoor fireplace, and a hot tub under whatever the sky is doing that night; the sauna is yours to light, and the kitchen is shared, so what you eat is what you bring or catch. Seven rooms only, which keeps the fireplace and the tub from ever needing a queue.

Attme Have sets a minimum age of 18 in its own house rules, written at attmehave.no — states '18+ kun voksne'; booking house rules confirm minimum check-in age 18, and read there on 11 August 2026. A house whose rule drops below eighteen, or stops naming an age, is taken off HUSH — how every house is checked.

Right on the water

The main lodge is built almost onto the shoreline, and its verandas face straight out over the fjord to the snow-lined peaks beyond. Rooms 201 and 202 open onto a broad deck that leads to the common area and the hot tub; Room 101 sits on the ground floor with its own terrace and a stretch of lawn. Wherever you stand, the water and the weather are the view.

Under the glass roof

The two AuroraHut cabins are small on purpose — about ten square metres, a comfortable bed, a heater against the cold — and roofed entirely in glass. Lie back and the sky becomes the ceiling: stars in the clear hours and, on the right winter night, the aurora drawing its slow green arcs overhead. Storm stands at the sea's edge and Panorama higher in the trees, both facing west and northwest.

We loved our stay in the double with sea view. It was comfortable and had beautiful views. We were lucky that when we stayed the hotel was very quiet meaning it was really peaceful at night.

Our tips

Light the sauna, then the sky

The sauna is yours to heat whenever you want it, and most evenings finish in the hot tub outside with the northern lights doing the rest of the work, from September to March. There is no schedule for either — you decide the hour.

The shared kitchen

The kitchen is shared, not staffed. It's built for whoever caught something that day — fishing gear is part of the house, and the hot plate is yours whenever you're back from the water or the hills.

Pick your season

September to March brings the long dark that makes room for Aurora Borealis; May to July flips it entirely, with twenty-four hours of daylight and fishing that can run past midnight. August into October is the quiet one — ruska color across the hills, better for photographs than for company.

Let yourself in at four

Check-in runs through a key box from 16:00, and check-out is by 11:00 — no desk, no one to wait for and no one to meet if you'd rather not.
