Every apartment runs the same plan: full kitchen, a sitting area, a bathroom on its own, and a balcony or terrace that looks out over the street, the pool, or — on the two ground-floor units — straight onto the pool deck and sun terrace. The Suite doubles the space with two bedrooms and a wide private terrace fitted with hammocks; the Gran Terraza units trade the view for a bigger sundeck and two loungers of their own. Kettle, toaster, coffee maker and satellite television come standard in all five apartment types, and beyond the apartments the complex has an open-air bath, a small fitness area and a garden, all shared. Free wifi runs across the whole complex, apartments included.

In Guatiza, up the coast from Costa Teguise, a disused volcanic-ash quarry became a garden in 1990, built by César Manrique around the walls the quarry already had. Go in the cool of the morning, then come back to the pool before the afternoon heat.
The town is one of the island's starting points for road cycling, out across the volcanic flatlands that draw riders to Lanzarote. Bikes go out in the cool morning air; the pool is there when you're back.
