In Faro's old town, behind walls you would otherwise walk past, five rooms sit around a pool with wine in its name and no street number to follow — just the historic centre and a door that opens onto marble and quiet. Opus One is a guest house rather than a hotel in the usual sense, adults-only and kept small on purpose, for anyone who wants a week where the biggest decision is which chair by the pool to take.
Inside, the floors change room to room — marble and tile in some, wood in others — and every window opens onto a balcony or a terrace rather than a wall.
