Beach Commune Simploose takes no guests under eighteen, and stands close enough to the shore that you could leave the snorkelling and fishing gear by the door. Each room is done in its own style — natural wood, antique, Japanese-modern — for the two of you, with nothing more scheduled than watching the lights come on over the bay.
Each of the three rooms is done differently: Habushi in a natural style with wide tatami, Gusuku a compact antique-styled room built for two, Kaiza the largest of the three, done in Japanese-modern lines with a corridor to the bath running past its door. A yukata is folded on the bed, a down comforter turned back beneath it, and the window holds the same thing in every room — the sea, the lights of Ito, and in summer the fireworks over the harbour. There is a hot-spring bath open to the sky, and a small fridge and air purifier in your room, so a late drink doesn't mean leaving it. A free shuttle runs down to the shore, for the fishing and snorkelling gear that doesn't need a car to reach the water.

It was a very good japanese breakfast, very filling! We loved the outdoor onsen and the beautiful view over the city and bay. The owners were very helpful, giving us a lift to the station when we left.
