Breakfast happens one floor up, in a salon with four-light windows onto the street below. The smell reaches you on the stairs before the room does: eggs frying, coffee going through the machine in bursts of hiss and buzz, bread and organic marmalade set under a Murano glass chandelier that has hung there since the palazzo belonged to a Venetian family. Six rooms only, so nobody is fighting for the good chair by the window. What comes through those windows is a muffled, quiet murmur from the street, nothing sharper — Cannaregio keeping its own rhythm of water and light rather than performing for anyone. Aliona, Petra and Luigi are usually the ones saying buongiorno at the door.

Everything was just perfect and calm. Hotel staff was always helpful and courteous. Breakfast was very good and a perfect for slow morning.
Property was delightful, you could easily miss it from the outside! Once inside, it’s quite lovely and comfortable.

It has hung over the breakfast salon since the palazzo was a private house, long before the hotel. Take your seat under it without hurrying — eggs are frying, the coffee machine is finding its rhythm, and the house's own line for the morning is simply 'there is no rush at all.'
